Deterministic Agent Coordination

The coordination
layer that
doesn't guess.

A deterministic coordination kernel for local AI agents and human–AI workflows. Operator-defined capability boundaries. Every action validated against a hashed rule snapshot before execution. No inference. No drift. No surprises.

Three layers. No ambiguity.

01 — Capability
What agents are allowed to do

Capability modules define the outer boundary of what any agent in your system can do. Nothing outside an enabled capability module can execute. Period.

No capability is active without explicit operator enablement. The default state is restricted.
02 — Restriction
What is currently permitted

Dynamic restriction rules define what's permitted right now, within the capability boundary. Rules are explicit, inspectable, and hashed. No rule widens authority implicitly.

Every rule set is evaluated against a hashed snapshot. If the snapshot doesn't match, execution stops.
03 — Execution
What actually runs

Only actions that pass deterministic validation against both capability modules and restriction rules reach execution. Archon doesn't reason about policy. It enforces it.

Every decision is logged. Every enforcement event is inspectable. Nothing runs invisibly.

Emergent vs. enforced.

Emergent Orchestration
✕ Agents coordinate by hoping they stay in bounds
✕ Policy is inferred from context, not enforced from rules
✕ Authority widens implicitly as agents learn
✕ No way to inspect what decision was made or why
✕ Drift accumulates. Behavior changes over time.
✕ Operator is out of the loop by design
Archon
→ Every action validated before execution. Always.
→ Rules are explicit, operator-defined, and hashed
→ No rule widens authority implicitly. Ever.
→ Every decision is logged and inspectable
→ Deterministic. Same input always produces same decision.
→ Operator authority is preserved, not delegated away

What Archon enforces.

CAP

Capability Modules

Define the outer boundary of what agents can do. Modules are operator-enabled explicitly. The default state is restricted. Nothing executes outside an active module.

RULE

Rule Enforcement

Dynamic restriction rules evaluated deterministically at every execution gate. Rules are hashed. Snapshot mismatches halt execution. No implicit authority.

LOG

Inspectable Decisions

Every enforcement decision is logged with full context. Every validated or rejected action is auditable. Nothing runs invisibly. The system is always explainable.

LOCAL

Local First

Archon runs on your hardware. No cloud dependency, no external enforcement service, no phone-home. Your agent stack, your rules, your infrastructure.

HASH

Rule Snapshots

Every rule set is evaluated against a cryptographic hash of the current snapshot. Rules can't be silently modified. Integrity is enforced at evaluation time.

API

Agent Agnostic

Archon coordinates agents, not frameworks. Bring your existing agent setup. Archon sits as the enforcement layer between your agents and execution.

Two ways in.

Operators & Engineers
You read source before you trust anything.

Apache 2.0, fully open. Install via CLI, configure via rules files, inspect every decision. Archon is infrastructure — treat it like infrastructure.

  • Full source on GitHub
  • Apache 2.0 — always, permanently
  • CLI install, no GUI required
  • Structured logging, audit trail
  • Agent-agnostic integration

AI Enthusiasts
You want your AI to behave. That shouldn't require a PhD.

Set up your AI assistants once. Tell Archon what they're allowed to do. It handles the rest — you stay in control without staying in the loop.

  • GUI installer — no CLI required
  • Available on App Store and Google Play
  • Plain language rule builder
  • Visual status dashboard
  • Works with popular AI assistants

Apache 2.0.
Always.

Archon is open source under Apache 2.0 and will remain so permanently. No bait-and-switch. No open-core. No future relicensing.

If you build on Archon, that foundation will not be pulled out from under you. This is a commitment, not a marketing position.
